Fitzcarraldo
Dir: Werner Herzog, 1982, Germany (9*)
Awesome achievement, as Klaus Kjinski plays a wealthy European obsessed with bringing opera, and wife Claudia Cardinale to the Brazilian jungles, which involves moving a large boat up a mountain to a large inland lake so it can navigate inland waterways. The film crew actually did this, so half the film is really about making the film! This becomes a huge adventure, unlike anything ever filmed about one man's obsessed dream.
